A Family Advent and Twelfth Night Calendar SET
Count down the days to Christmas by preparing a Bethlehem stable warmed with special visitors and prayers to welcome the Holy Infant; then continue the joy and festivities of Christmastide by similarly preparing for the coming of the Magi.
More than just “opening doors,” this set of two seasonal calendars involves children in their own spiritual preparation for Christmas and Epiphany. This combination package includes:
- Daily cut-and-color activities with short prayers,
- Ancient poetic tradition of the Church for Advent,
- Special stickers to keep track of the seasonal devotions,
- Novenas to be prayed by the whole family.
Family Advent Calendar: Beginning December 1st, children cut out a star, animals, angel, Joseph, Mary, and finally Baby Jesus, color the figures, and attach them to the stable scene.
Twelfth Night Calendar: Then beginning December 26th, children cut out and color Jesus, Mary, Joseph, shepherds, villagers, camels and the three Kings, and attach them to the stable scene.
Daily prayers, the “O Antiphons,” the Christmas Novena, Prayer for the New Year, Novena to the Magi, and the singing of the traditional hymns O Come, O Come Emmanuel and We Three Kings round out the activities for a prayerful preparation for the coming of our Infant King on Christmas and continue through Twelfth night to prepare for the coming of the Holy Kings on Epiphany.
